Dr. John A. Crist, DPM

Dr. John A. Crist is a board-certified podiatric surgeon at the Foot & Ankle Center, proudly serving patients in Cape Coral, Florida. He is certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is also a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, Dr. Crist earned his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from the University of Evansville and pursued postgraduate business studies at the University of Detroit. He later attended Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine and completed his residency training at Oakwood Hospital (now Beaumont Hospital) in Detroit, Michigan.

Dr. Crist was inspired to enter the field of podiatry after observing the challenges people faced with walking and mobility. His natural curiosity and desire to help led him to return to school and pursue a career in foot and ankle medicine. He is especially passionate about providing non-surgical relief for painful conditions in the office setting and enjoys helping patients regain mobility after trauma or injury.

Now residing in Bonita Springs and looking forward to relocating to Cape Coral, Dr. Crist enjoys staying active in his free time with walking and pool workouts. A father to three daughters and a proud grandfather, he also finds joy in spending time with family. A lifelong tennis enthusiast, he has played the sport since college—where he also played baseball—and has even sponsored local tennis tournaments.

A fun fact: Dr. Crist credits his mentor’s encouragement (and perhaps some persistence on his part!) as the spark that launched his journey into podiatry.
